sweet. those line-xed bushwackers? icon stage 1 lift, Icon LCA, not sure about the tires. Am I correct? Looks pretty badass.

Wilderness Joe 09-25-2011 09:50 PM

Yeah, Line X...

Actually it's a stage 3++ Tires are Toyo Open Country...seriously BA.

Capt Sensible 09-26-2011 03:31 AM

werd.

DirtGhost 09-26-2011 05:16 AM

Nice bush wackies

BIRDMAN 09-26-2011 11:07 AM

Welcome! the flares look badass against the Voodoo

Wilderness Joe 09-26-2011 08:11 PM

Thanks...The Line X definitely looks better than that cheap plastic.

Glad to know there's some love out there for the Voodoo blue.

Dave(man) 09-26-2011 08:17 PM

sweet man......i've done the front bumper line-x and as soon as i was done with it realized i wanted to do the rest of the plastic that way but haven't had the time.....welcome to the forum ! !

Wilderness Joe 09-27-2011 08:12 AM

Thanks!

If you decide to do the other panels in Line X...a word of advice. Take your time removing the panels and try to fit you hands where the clips are located so you can pull straight out. Those clips break easily and are expensive to replace. Using the right tool is probably a better way to preserve the clips. I wish I could find one.

My Line X guy did a great job of prepping the panels. He sprayed an adhesive promoter and then a primer before Line X.

Capt Sensible 09-27-2011 10:30 AM

It is my understanding that all the different plastic body clips Toyota uses are designed to be used once. You might get lucky and salvage them, but you're not supposed to.

Wilderness Joe 09-27-2011 05:46 PM

I was able to save about half of them. I estimate the clips costing a few pennies a piece in the volume that Toyota/Scion/Lexus produces them. The dealership nearby charged $1.3 a piece for the blues and $2 a piece for the oranges. Rip off.

Capt Sensible 09-27-2011 10:25 PM

Sounds about right. It's like a $13 coke at a ball game.

Dave(man) 09-27-2011 11:08 PM

and $600 at the mustang ranch.....

Wow... $600... that had better be the best lay of your life.

Wilderness Joe 09-28-2011 07:51 AM

I'd rather pay $13 for clips than for a coke at the ball game.

I'd also rather pay $600 for mods to my FJ. Is this stable behavior? Forget normal...I've never been accused of being normal.

Capt Sensible 09-28-2011 04:25 PM

stable behavior... :shakehead:

Wilderness Joe 09-29-2011 08:06 AM

Exactly. :Insane:

BIRDMAN 09-29-2011 11:41 AM

If you read the Terms and Conditions while joining this forum, you would have seen that satble behavior is strictly prohibited. :peace:

Capt Sensible 09-29-2011 03:59 PM

it's a good thing that "stable" behavior is allowed though.

Wilderness Joe 09-29-2011 07:51 PM

The definition of "stable" as it relates to modifying an FJ -- I bought rocksliders then I bought Bushwackers. I learn that my rocksliders get in the way of the Bushwackers so now I decide to modify my rocksliders to work with the Bushwackers. By the time I'm done with this dance I'll have paid 3x the original price for my rocksliders...but they'll be one-of-a-kind and bitch'n so it's ok.

Capt Sensible 09-29-2011 11:48 PM

^^^haha... i would have sold the sliders, and bought some new ones. but then again i wouldn't have bought bushwackers, but that is just me.

Wilderness Joe 09-30-2011 07:37 AM

Ha Ha. That's why you're Captain Sensible!
