Hello from Texas
Just dropping in to say hello to everyone.
...And here's the FJ eye candy. :) http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/...FJParts031.jpg |
sweet. those line-xed bushwackers? icon stage 1 lift, Icon LCA, not sure about the tires. Am I correct? Looks pretty badass.
Yeah, Line X...
Actually it's a stage 3++ Tires are Toyo Open Country...seriously BA. |
werd.
Nice bush wackies
Welcome! the flares look badass against the Voodoo
Thanks...The Line X definitely looks better than that cheap plastic.
Glad to know there's some love out there for the Voodoo blue. |
sweet man......i've done the front bumper line-x and as soon as i was done with it realized i wanted to do the rest of the plastic that way but haven't had the time.....welcome to the forum ! !
Thanks!
If you decide to do the other panels in Line X...a word of advice. Take your time removing the panels and try to fit you hands where the clips are located so you can pull straight out. Those clips break easily and are expensive to replace. Using the right tool is probably a better way to preserve the clips. I wish I could find one. My Line X guy did a great job of prepping the panels. He sprayed an adhesive promoter and then a primer before Line X. |
It is my understanding that all the different plastic body clips Toyota uses are designed to be used once. You might get lucky and salvage them, but you're not supposed to.
I was able to save about half of them. I estimate the clips costing a few pennies a piece in the volume that Toyota/Scion/Lexus produces them. The dealership nearby charged $1.3 a piece for the blues and $2 a piece for the oranges. Rip off.
Sounds about right. It's like a $13 coke at a ball game.
and $600 at the mustang ranch.....

I'd rather pay $13 for clips than for a coke at the ball game.
I'd also rather pay $600 for mods to my FJ. Is this stable behavior? Forget normal...I've never been accused of being normal. |
stable behavior... :shakehead:
Exactly. :Insane:
If you read the Terms and Conditions while joining this forum, you would have seen that satble behavior is strictly prohibited. :peace:
it's a good thing that "stable" behavior is allowed though.
The definition of "stable" as it relates to modifying an FJ -- I bought rocksliders then I bought Bushwackers. I learn that my rocksliders get in the way of the Bushwackers so now I decide to modify my rocksliders to work with the Bushwackers. By the time I'm done with this dance I'll have paid 3x the original price for my rocksliders...but they'll be one-of-a-kind and bitch'n so it's ok.
^^^haha... i would have sold the sliders, and bought some new ones. but then again i wouldn't have bought bushwackers, but that is just me.
Ha Ha. That's why you're Captain Sensible!
Actually it's a stage 3++ Tires are Toyo Open Country...seriously BA.
