First and foremost, welcome aboard. Tell us about your FJ. Better yet, show us!
To your question. The first hurtle I see is, you're in Canada, and you might have shipping cost issues. Plus is the allotted $1,200 USD or CD (I don't know the abbreviation for Canadian denomination)? Next, what type of bumper do you want? Tube or plate? Will you be running a winch? What type of winch? You need to answer all these questions first, and then really get down to the nitty gritty of purchasing. Also how mechanically inclined are you? Most front bumpers are pretty simple to put on. My ToyOutfitters front bumper took me and a friend about 25 minutes to remove the stock crap, and about 15 minutes to mount the new bumper. And I'm not a mechanic, I just play one on tv. I should warn you, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Select the night before though.
Just for shits and giggles here are a couple for you.
Tube;
Metal Tech makes some top quality stuff.
FJ Cruiser Tube Bumper W/ Winch Mount - Metal Tech 4x4
Plate;
An Allpro base is only $800.

Demello makes some really good stuff too. Flat top front for only $725
Demello Offroad
Again I do not know shipping costs, or installation costs. But all 3 of those should be pretty straight forward bolt on jobs.
