Default Dealer overfill the front differential?

I had oil spray all over the damn place. It looks like it came from these little breathers. I recently had the front differential gear oil change at the dealer. The wife had it in 4WD on the way home from work today. Are these breathers for the differential? The gear box?

Any insight or advice is appreciated.

So anyone else ever see something like this? Is it even possible to overfill the front differential?

Have you ever figured it out what causes that oil spray? Never heard a front differential overfilled before.
